As we inch closer to the 2023 college football season, teams are starting to understand better what their teams will look like this season, and questions on the depth chart are being answered. Georgia's football program had one major question answered a couple of days ago as head coach Kirby Smart announced that Carson Beck will be the team's starting quarterback for the upcoming season.

Beck had the opportunity to meet with the media on Wednesday for the first time since being named the starter. Two major topics that he discussed were the reason why he ultimately decided to wait around for his turn at Georgia and how he feels now that he knows he is the starting quarterback.

Here is everything Beck had to say during his media availability today:

Beck had a unique journey to becoming Georgia's starting quarterback. He is entering his fourth year at the University of Georgia and doesn't have a single start to his name. Most people in Beck's situation would have tested the waters in the transfer portal to seek opportunity elsewhere, but Beck remained ten toes down in Athens.

Georgia is seeking to win their third straight national title, and Beck will play a significant role in helping Georgia achieve that. Since being tabbed as the starter, Beck has already seen an increase in his draft stock and odds to win the Heisman Trophy. Both the fans and Beck have been waiting to see just how great he will be as Georgia's starter, and that question will finally be answered in 2023.
