Georgia vs Tennessee Bold Predictions

In this story:
The regular season is nearing a close, but Georgia still has some meat on the bone before they turn their attention to postseason play. This weekend, they will make the trip to Tennessee for a ranked matchup against the Volunteers. The Bulldogs under Kirby Smart, have kept this rivalry in check ever since Tennessee got the best of them in 2016, and they will look to do the same this year on the road.
Prior to the season started, many anticipated this matchup to be a deciding factor for who would get to represent the eastern division in the SEC Championship game. However, after a less-than-ideal season for Tennessee, the Bulldogs were able to clinch the division last week, and now, this game is mostly all about bragging rights. So with kickoff set for tomorrow afternoon, here are some bold predictions for the SEC matchup.
Georgia Out Rushes Tennessee
On the surface, this may not seem like a bold prediction, but when you get down to the actual details of who Tennessee has been as an offense this season, you start to realize how big this would be for Georgia. The Volunteers are ninth in the country for rushing yards as they are averaging 213 per game this season. Georgia has been able to find big-time success on the ground as of late with Daijun Edwards and Kendall Milton leading as the 1-2 punch.
Tennessee wants to get things started on offense by setting the tone on the ground and getting their running backs going, but Georgia's run defense has been impressive this season as well, as usual. I also think that when Georgia does have the ball on offense in this game, there will be moments where they will want to squat on it and chew some clock, and that will result in a big day for Georgia on the ground.
Ladd McConkey and Brock Bowers Outshine Milton
They're called bold predictions for a reason right? Georgia got Brock Bowers back last week against Ole Miss and Ladd McConkey has been doing his thing the last few weeks, and with this duo back together, I think they're in store for a major outing on Saturday. Tennessee has improved on defense compared to what they were a year ago, but the secondary still isn't a strong point for that unit. I am expecting a big day from the star tight end and wide receiver for the Bulldogs, so much so, that I am predicting that they finish the day with more combined receiving yards than Tennessee's Joe Milton has in passing yards.
Georgia's Offensive Line Pitches Another Perfect Game
You would find a hard time finding a better unit in college football as of late than Georgia's offensive line based on the way that they have played down the stretch. This will be the third week in a row that they will have played a team that looks to get after the quarterback, and for the most part, they have kept Carson Beck's jersey clean through two of those. In fact, last week against Ole Miss, not a single Rebel defender even managed to get a finger on the starting quarterback.
The Volunteers have quite a bit of talent upfront on their defensive line, but I think Georgia's offensive line will be up for the challenge and will pitch another perfect game in pass protection on Saturday.
