As the Georgia Bulldogs head to Auburn, AL, for their annual rivalry with the Auburn Tigers, some Dawgs 2024 and 2025 commits start their region play back in the Peach State. This Friday Night Lights Preview provides some meaningful games with big implications for teams trying to make their way into the Georgia State Playoffs in 2023.

Dylan Raiola and Jaden Perlotte and Buford play Travis Hunter's old high school, Collins Hill, to start their Region 8-AAAAAAA play. Although they were very impressive when Hunter was there, Collins Hill holds a 1-4 record this season. Buford comes in with a 5-0 record and will be looking to continue their dominance. It will be an important statement game for Buford before they face off against Mill Creek.

Justin Greene, Mountain View, and Dacula, who are also in region 8-AAAAAAA, such as Buford, will have the chance to play each other tonight. Mountain View comes into this game with a 2-3 record, while Dacula has a 1-4 record. This game will be important for either team as they are starting to play in one of the toughest regions in Georgia.

Sacovie White and Cass play Woodland (Cartersville) in Region 7-AAAAAA.  After starting the season 0-2, Cass has been on a three-game win streak. Woodland also comes in with a similar record for the season. Both teams are looking for a turnaround to their season and a good push to make it to a tough 6-A Georgia playoff. Within their region are Ethan Barbour and Alpharetta are set to play Sprayberry in their first region game of the year. Barbour, who is the newest commit to Georgia, is a supreme receiving talent that should make a difference in this game.

Malachi Toliver and Cartersville play Calhoun, who are in Region 7-AAAAA. They are two of the top teams in the region, as Cartersville has a 5-0 record and Calhoun has a 4-1 record. Calhoun is the home of 2025 tight end Emaree Winston, who is the 16th-ranked recruit in Georgia from the 2025 class. The 3-star recruit and Calhoun will try to put Toliver and Cartersville's backs against the wall one week before the Purple Hurricanes take on Sacovie White and Cass.

As the Georgia Bulldogs continue to track their feat of making history this season with three straight national titles, their recruits will represent them well under the lights of Friday night football in Georgia.
