Georgia has opened as a seventeen point favorite in Las Vegas for their matchup against Missouri, as Georgia looks to keep the momentum rolling following their best win to date on the season.

Kirby Smart talked about his upcoming opponent today during his press conference, speaking very highly of Barry Odom and his staff. "He's a defensive guy that's coaching at his alma mater like me... we learn a lot from what they do."

Odom's team features one of the best defenses in the entire SEC East as they currently sit at the top, or near it, in a lot of defensive categories. Yet despite an early schedule that's yet to see a ranked opponent, the Tigers are a disappointing 5-3.

Their first of three losses came on the road at Wyoming to open the season, as their defense had their worst performance of the year, allowing 37 points. Though they were put in constant poor positions with the offense turning the ball over three times in the contest.

They then went on a five-game winning streak, playing five consecutive home games, two of which came against non-power 5 teams. Then a punch in the gut as they lost as a 24.5 point favorite at Vanderbilt. Derek Mason's defense held Missouri to just 140 passing yards.

Their third loss, and second in a row, came against Kentucky prior to their bye week last week in a downpour. Kentucky rushed for almost three hundred yards on the ground and controlled the time of possession to the tune of just over 33-minutes.

This is a dual-threat attack from Missouri offensively, Kelly Bryant is a guy with national championship experience that will be ready for the moment Saturday. He has 1,845 passing yards on the season, to go along with  205 yards on the ground. Kirby Smart is expecting Missouri to try and place pressure on Georgia's defense with a few designed runs Saturday as well.

Defensively they have a very large, physical front that features two big 300+ pounders in the middle in Jordan Elliot and Kobie Whiteside. Linebacker Nick Bolton leads the SEC in solo tackles with 47.0, and his wingman at linebacker, Cale Garrett is tied for second in the SEC with 3 interceptions.
