Georgia's Most Important Offensive Player Heading Into the 2023 Season

Every team no matter what level or sport has a player that is crucial to that team's success during the season. Players whose sheer presence elevates their team to championship status, while the absence of said player of this caliber can doom a team's season entirely. Most teams have one of these players for each unit. Here is who the Bulldogs' offensive MVP is heading into the season...
It is almost customary for the quarterback to be the most important player on an offense to be the quarterback. And while Carson Beck (or Brock Vandagriff) will be crucial if Georgia wants to win a third straight national title. It is Brock Bowers who will have the biggest impact on the Georgia Bulldogs' offense.
Since his arrival at the University of Georgia, Bowers has asserted himself as one of the most dominant tight ends in all of college football. His stat line after just two seasons already makes him the greatest Georgia tight end of all time, and another huge campaign in 2023 could make him Georgia's most decorated pass catcher ever.
But Bowers' impact goes much further than simply catching the ball. The Napa, California native is such a mismatch that he requires a defense to place extra emphasis on stopping him. Which in turn, opens up other opportunities for other offensive players.
On top of his effectiveness in the passing game, Bowers is also a tremendous run blocker and will likely have an even bigger role in the Bulldogs' run game this season. Given that Darnell Washington, a 6-foot-7 tight end is now in the NFL. Should Bowers get injured, Georgia would likely have to resort to its younger tight ends such as Oscar Delp, Lawson Luckie, and others to carry the load.
Georgia is one of the few teams in college football that seems to have immensely talented players at every position, including tight end. While Brock Bowers will almost certainly not make up for all of Georgia's offensive production in 2023, his presence will likely be one of the most felt by opposing defenses.
