2021 Georgia Recruiting: Jared Wilson, 3-Star from North Carolina Commits to UGA

The Georgia 2021 recruiting class gets it's third commit today. Jared Wilson, a 3-star guard from Clemmons, North Carolina picks UGA.

Wilson is listed at 6'4, 325 pounds and is an absolute road grader, and though he's not the typical five-star that Sam Pittman has recently rolled in, Pittman hand-selected this young man for a reason.

Flip on the tape and you see a guy that loves to finish blocks, a young man that's built like Solomon Kindley and plays like Cade Mays. He's played a lot of tackle for his high school team, but he projects to be a guard at the next level.

He's got heavy hands, sending shockwaves through defenders when he strikes. He's certainly more suitable for a run-heavy offense at this point in his career, and that's perfect for Georgia's situation.

Look, Coach Pittman is wrapping up one of the best offensive line recruiting classes the world has ever known in 2020. With four O-Line commits in the top 250 overall Broderick Jones #23, Tate Ratledge #36, Sedrick Van Pran #103, and Chad Lindberg #130. Then there's also 4-star Joshua Braun, the big tackle from Florida in the class as well.

So, for Pittman to extend a committable offer to a guy like Jared Wilson shows you his thoughts on the young man. I think it's safe to say the recruiting services will be revisiting the junior's rankings very soon. It's similar to what we witnessed with Ratledge this past off-season, a guy that shot up recruiting boards as more and more attention was brought his way.

And for him to be the first offensive lineman commit in the class I believe says something as well. This is a football program that is passionately committed to the run game, and Wilson fits that mold perfectly.

Jared Wilson joins David Daniel and Braylyn Oliver as the only commits in the 2021 recruiting class for Georgia. Though, it's still extremely early in the process. Florida leads the conference currently with 5 commits.

If we've learned anything from the 2020 cycle though, it's that Kirby is going to wait things out and chase the biggest of fish till they are finally reeled in. Whether it be his boat or not.
