Georgia's interior lineman has developed into one of the best all-around groups in all of college football. Bringing multiple first-round picks on the defensive side of the ball with the likes of Travon Walker, Jordan Davis, and Jalen Carter. The offensive side of the ball has seen Sedrick Van Pran and Tate Ratledge dominating the line of scrimmage.

The last two seasons, though, Georgia knew who their guy would be within the interior defensive line; this year is different. A few different players could step into that role, such as Nazir Stackhouse. But they need more than Stackhouse to develop and produce within the interior line on both sides of the ball.

These players had a chance to develop this summer, and Smart acknowledged that during his first press conference of fall camp. But they still have more to prove in Kirby Smart's mind. Smart had to say this about the interior line's development over the summer -

"I don't know that I could measure by anything we see in the summer. Summer is built so much around conditioning, lifting weights, which are not - they're just not pertinent to being train wreckers and habit makers with football pads on. It may be a measure of strength, may be a measure of stamina, but not necessarily disruptive nature. I don't know where we're at in terms of that. I certainely concern myself with the depth at all positions, the defensive line - that concerns me in terms of depth. But a lot of positions But a lot of positions worry me in terms of depth."

As Smart mentioned, the problem Georgia may run into this year is "do [they] have enough players that can play winning football at each position group." Warren Brinson and Zion Logue have a significant opportunity to step up and be a force alongside Stackhouse this fall. Micah Morris and Dylan Fairchild also have the same chance on the offensive side, backing up Tate Ratledge and Xavier Truss.

In recent memory, Georgia's interior line has been one of the best dominant forces in college football, but this year may be different. The interior of the starting offensive line is strong, but behind them and across from them on the defensive side may be a few steps away, it seems.
