Kirby Smart Postgame Press Conference After Win Over Florida

Kirby Smart spoke to the media in his post-game press conference after the 24-17 win over the Florida Gators

Kirby Smart was in a good mood as he spoke to the media during his post-game press conference after the 24-17 win over the Florida Gators, though in his words "I would have had this demeanor either result."

Smart, now 3-0 against the Florida Gators in the WLOCP, opened his press conference by putting to rest some of the noise surrounding the location of the game itself.

"What a privilege it is to play this game, regardless of my opinion, or our opinion about where it's played, it is an incredible venue, regardless of the outcome of the game."

Smart then went on to talk about the challenge he gave to the team this week, saying that they wanted their leaders to guide them. They preached throughout the bye week three main principles: Composer, Discipline, Physicality.

"I thought our players embraced the challenge today, and blocked the outside noise... Very proud of our guys."

Kirby was very adamant about throwing the big fellas up front some love on that Georgia offensive line following some questioning their ability to provide a clean pocket:

"Let's be honest, those five guys up front were blocking some pretty good pass rushers one on one, and that was probably the difference in the game."

Jake Fromm and Kirby Smart have been able to build quite the bond over the past four or so years together dating back to Smart's recruitment of Fromm the coach's first spring in Athens. Smart played a pivotal role in flipping Fromm's commitment from Alabama to Georgia.

Smart sees a lot of himself in Jake Fromm

"He and I are wired in very similar ways, we are very competitive, we both wanna win, there's a lot of the same hardwiring there, and I think that him being able to talk to me and me being able to talk to him and see where we can help him."

Kirby had a message for those who questioned this football team over the last couple of weeks as well after tonight's game.

"I really never doubted this team, our team doesn't listen to the outside noise. We had four turnovers against and played really poorly against an SEC opponent, then we played in an absolute monsoon... We don't have problems. We see it every day, we see guys make plays, we see guys do things that you guys aren't privy to. So, there's was no doubt."
