Nolan Smith "Shocking" Teammates Early During Eagles Camp

Former Georgia Bulldog linebacker and current Philadelphia Eagles rookie Nolan Smith is reportedly already "shocking" his new teammates early into the reigning NFC Champions fall camp.

NFL Rookie Watch said Smith's practice today went exceptionally well on the pass-rushing front, noting how "in one of his first reps, Smith put Brady Russell (Eagles TE) on the ground and would've had a sack in an actual game. Smith got another pressure moments later, forcing a red-zone interception. Finally, Smith got a third pressure forcing Marcus Mariota to fumble."

They also noted how "Smith's speed off the edge has reportedly been 'fascinating' from the start." The questions regarding his speed off the edge were answered during Smith's pre-draft combine when he ran a blazing 4.39 40-yard dash. What was in question, though, was how good his pass-rushing skills would be post-injury.

Flashes of his greatness showed when he was on the field in college, like the season opener against Clemson in 2021 when Smith had a huge sack to pin the Tigers deep in their own territory in the first quarter of the game. Reports like these could mean the former leader of the Dawgs' defense is back in business with his new team.
