Practice Notes: Georgia Kicks Off 2023 Season

The University of Georgia football program has won two consecutive national titles and their quest for a third begins Thursday morning. The Bulldogs’ first practice of the 2023 kicked off and thanks to the UGAA we hear at Dawgs Daily were able to take part in a 15 minute practice viewing window during the beginning stages of Practice No. 1 for Georgia.
Here are our practice notes:
- QB Rotation - Carson got first in the drills that we observed.
- CB Rotation - Julian Humphrey is noticeably bigger at corner, with no true indications on rotation seeing as we only saw individual periods mostly there.
- X-Reicever - Rara Thomas took the fourth team reps during today's availability. It was Rosemy-Jacksaint to start, followed by Meeks, and Tyler Williams.
- OL Rotations - Earnest Greene getting first-team reps with Austin Blaske filling in behind at left tackle.
- Offensive Line: Earnest Greene, Xavier Truss, SVP, Tate Ratledge, Amarius Mims
- Oscar Delp is large, I would say he's around 250 pounds. His lower half is thick. He's clearly preparing for the role left by Darnell Washington.
- Pearce Spurlin is back at practice after his shoulder injury this spring, he's the fourth tight end behind Bowers, Delp, and Lawson Luckie.
- The Punt team first unit has 8 starting position players on it. Names like JDJ, Malaki Starks, Brock Bowers, Javon Bullard, Chaz Chambliss.
- Smael Mondon, LB - Cleared to run but will be limited with regards to football activity, Kirby Smart mentioned he was ahead of schedule
- Branson Robinson, RB - Cleared to run but will be limited with regards to football activity, Kirby Smart mentioned he was ahead of schedule.
- Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins, DL - (FOOT) Will be limited with snap count but will be involved in football activity.
- Mykel Williams, DL - FOOT Will be limited with snap count but will be involved in football activity.
