REPORT: Ringo Meets With Multiple First Round Teams

Former Georgia DB Kelee Ringo has recently met with the Pittsburgh Steelers, New Orleans Saints, and the Las Vegas Raiders leading up to the NFL Draft.

Kelee Ringo, a redshirt sophomore defensive back, has had private dinner meetings with the Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints within the last month, per Ryan Fowler of The Draft Network. Fowler also reported that the Las Vegas Raiders were hosting a Top 30 visit with Ringo on April 11th.

Ringo had a stellar three years for the Dawgs, with the highlight of his career being the pick-six against Alabama to win Georgia its first national championship in 40 years.

In a loaded DB draft class, Ringo posted a 4.36 40-yard dash and a 33.5" vertical jump at the combine, hoping to improve his draft stock and be mentioned with top corners like Oregon's Christian Gonzalez or Illinios' Devon Witherspoon.

In Mel Kiper's latest mock draft, he has Ringo falling to the Atlanta Falcons at pick 44 but adds that this past season Ringo "took a step back" from his 2021 redshirt-freshman season. Kiper mentioned how Ringo has "a great frame and is incredibly fast, but he can't rely on his physical tools to get him by."

The Steelers are one team who can turn a potential draft bust into a perennial All-Pro player. Think of CB Minkah Fitzpatrick, who was being labeled as a bust while playing in Miami, but was traded to Pittsburgh and became one of the top DBs in the league. The Saints also have an excellent CB1 in Marshon Lattimore, so both teams would be drafting Ringo to solidify their CB2 spot and lock up both sides of the field.

Although the hype around Ringo hasn't been much leading up to the draft next Thursday night, hearing reports like this is good news for the former Georgia DB going into draft week.
