Though the day's of quarter-capacity stadiums thankfully seem to be behind us, and while Sanford Stadium has seen some electirc atmospheres since the 2020 season. G-Day will likely not be one of those as the University of Georgia has announced that the stadium will have a max capacity of around 55,000 fans for G-Day.

The shrunken capcity is due to the renovations that arae currently taking place on the stadium. The University announced all the way back in May of 2022 that it would begin a $68.5 million dollar renovation plan following the 2022 season. With "Phase one" renovating restrooms and expanding concession walkways for fans.

While the limited capacity for Saturday's scrimmage is surely disappointing. The University has reassured fans that phase one of the stadiums renovations will be complete in time for the Bulldogs 2023 regular season.
