Social Media Responds to Todd Monken Hire

The Baltimore Ravens have hired Todd Monken to be their next offensive coordinator. Here is how the internet is reacting.

For the past three seasons, Todd Monken has been the offensive coordinator for the Georgia Bulldogs. In that time, the University of Georgia saw two national championships, a Heisman finalist quarterback, and one of the most productive offenses in Georgia football history.

However, Monken's historic run in Athens has now ended as he has reportedly accepted an offensive coordinator position in the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens. As expected, Georgia fans are extremely disappointed.

Numerous Georiga football personalities and fans have taken to Twitter and other forms of social media to display their sadness regarding Monken's departure. But while sadness is certainly the primary emotion, there is also a massive wave of gratitude coming from Georgia fans.

While Georgia fans almost certainly do not approve of the Ravens' hire, experts around the football world have been very complimentary. In his three seasons with Georgia, the Bulldog's offense averaged an impressive 37 points per game which included an average of 455 yards per game as well.

Monken is no stranger to NFL positions as he has had stints with numerous NFL teams which included the Cleveland Browns prior to his hire by Georgia in 2020. His job with the Ravens will be his 16th position in coaching since he was a graduate assistant at Grand Valley State in 1989.

Former Oklahoma State Cowboy and receiver under Todd Monken, Dez Bryant had this to say about the Ravens' hire:

In the wake of Monken's departure, the Bulldogs have already promoted Mike Bobo as their new offensive coordinator. Bobo worked as Georiga's OC under Mark Richt from 2007-14 before taking a head coaching position at Colorado State. He worked as an offensive analyst for the Bulldogs in the 2022 season.
