The MLB Draft lasted from June 3rd through June 5th. Over the course of those days, we saw eight members of the 2019 UGA Baseball team get selected by MLB franchises.

While players become draft eligible after their junior season, players are not required to sign with a team, and can return for their senior. In addition, high school players can decide to play college ball, if they are not satisfied with the draft outcome.

2019 MLB Draft Results:

2nd round: Aaron Schunk, 3B, Colorado Rockies

3rd round: Tony Locey, RHP, St. Louis Cardinals

4th round: Tim Elliott, RHP, Seattle Mariners

7th round: LJ Talley, 2B, Toronto Blue Jays

14th round: Zac Kristofak, RHP, Los Angeles Angels (announced intent to leave)

20th round: Cam Shepherd, SS, Tampa Bay Rays (announced intent to stay)

22nd round: Tucker Maxwell, OF, Philadelphia Phillies (one year of eligibility remaining)

26th round: Riley King, OF, Atlanta Braves (two years of eligibility remaining)

While Schunk, Locey, and Elliot still have a year of eligibility remaining, their draft positions' are very high, and not worth the risk of playing another year in college.

With this Georgia baseball team bringing in more talent every year, expect seeing an influx of Dawgs in the perennially.
