After lots of thought, I have decided to come back for my senior season. We have a lot of unfinished business left in Athens. Time to get to work. Go Dawgs!
Shepherd batted at .223 on the year, and put up seven homers and thirty-two RBIs.
We've already seen how talented this guy is. Most recently, he showed his clutch factor by hitting a walk-off home run to knock off Texas A&M in the SEC Tournament.
The return of Shepherd allows for a solid bat in the lineup and gives a chance for younger players to develop. In addition, Shepherd will provide senior leadership and guidance.
With a great recruiting class coming in next season, it is good to have a balance of talent and experience. Keeping more experienced players on the roster will allow for Coach Scott Stricklin to have this blend on the team next year.
