What Does Nyler Daniels Bring to Georgia?

The Dawgs have landed another piece to their Great Wall of Georgia. Nyler Daniels was the latest piece to announce he would join the Dawgs. He brings a lot to Georgia, so let's consider how he will help Georgia's offensive line.

A native of New Jersey, Daniels stands at a massive 6' 8" and is currently ranked as the No. 11 offensive tackle and the No. 2 player in New Jersey, only ranked behind Jordan Thomas, another Georgia commit. Daniels uses his size to his advantage but moves around the field quicker than the 340 lbs he reportedly weighs.

Watching his film, you can almost immediately notice how much grass he gains with his first step. Your first step is crucial in a game that is continuously getting faster, so gaining grass in your first step will make reaching certain blocks easier if you aren't as quick off the line. Aside from his explosive first step, Daniels has an explosive punch once he locks on to a defender.

The very first play of his junior season tape exemplifies this to perfection. Daniels goes out to block for a screen pass, and you can see his ability to not only gain ground, but once he locks on to the cornerback, he lowers his pad level and explodes his hands and hips through the defender to completely flip him and put him on his stomach. There are also multiple plays where Daniels does this on the line of scrimmage, except he ends up knocking the D-linemen's helmet off in the process.

You must be physical when committing to play for the back-to-back national champions. You can't be taught how to be physical; it has to run in your blood. That trait seems to already be within Daniels; you can see this on tape in his multiple pancake blocks.

Daniels brings a lot to the table for the Dawgs to work with, but Stacy Searals is already loving his new OT, stating on Twitter he is "another brick to the Great Wall of Georgia" that he and Kirby Smart are trying to build.

The Dawgs have now landed 25 commits from the 2024 class, three of those commits coming in the last three days. Georgia hopes to land OL Marques Easely next, despite being left off his top three schools.
