UGA 2020 Target, Josh Taylor

UGA 2020 Target, Josh Taylor

Just a few days after the Georgia-Notre Dame visit, the Bulldogs received their first commitment for the 2020 class in 4-Star power forward, Josh Taylor. Taylor, who was originally ranked as the 58th overall prospect in the Top247 rankings for 2021, will reclassify and play for Georgia in 2020. He is expected to remain as a Top-100 prospect for his 2020 ranking.

Taylor stands at 6'8 195 lbs. and is a new enrollee at Norcross High School this year to play his final year of high school basketball.

While the big recruiting scene was primarily focused on the football players, the weekend will also have a big impact on basketball recruiting moving forward.

In recruiting, its never easy to predict who could be next to commit. However, recent predictions on both 247sports and Rivals give Georgia fans a big hint on who could be Georgia's second commitment in the 2020 recruiting class.

Deivon Smith is a 5'11 160 lbs. point guard from Loganville, Georgia.

4-Star point guard, Deivon Smith, was not in attendance this past weekend, but he was able to get to Athens this week.

Smith ranks as the 52nd overall recruit in the class of 2020, and the 7th ranked point guard. However, a lot of his ranking might have to deal with his "lack" of size.

Smith is one of the best overall players in the class.

While he won't intimidate opponents with his size, he will intimidate with his athleticism and explosiveness. His outside shot is coming together, and his transition game is hard to stop. Smith is the definition of a true, elite-level college basketball point guard, and he could even be a one-and-done type of guy if he ends up in the right system.

Smith visits Miami this weekend, and it looks like the Hurricanes are also in a good position. Schools like Louisville and NC State are also in for the long run of Smith's recruitment.

Shortly after Smith's visit to Georgia this week, three new crystal ball predictions via 247sports came in for Georgia.

A similar case happened on Rivals as Georgia also received three new predictions for Smith there as well.

While it could all be speculation, having six analysts predict Deivon Smith to Georgia within 24 hours should be very telling that the Bulldogs have a very good chance to land his services.

If Smith does decide to become a Bulldog, he'll be tied with Rayshaun Hammonds as the 5th highest recruit in program history. Keep an eye on Smith's recruitment moving forward.
