UGA 2020 Recruiting Class: Percentage Chance for the Big Fish Left

The UGA 2020 Recruiting class is turning out to be a fine one, but there are still some big fish left to reel in. Today we take a look at the top remaining recruits and give our percentage chance they land at UGA.

Kirby Smart and staff have received 11 hard commits from the class of 2020. Most recently the defensive tackle, Warren Brinson. Their 2020 class is currently ranked 4th by 247sports.com, sitting behind Clemson, Alabama, and LSU respectively.

Which means there is still work to be done for Georgia to meet the standard Kirby Smart has placed on his program at this point in recruiting. If things were finalized today, this would be his lowest rated class since 2015. I mean it's hardly like the 4th ranked class is something to scoff at, but Kirby will.

The good news is, it's still extremely early, official visits during the season are still to be taken, and there are a ton of uncommitted studs out there. Including the nations #1 player, Zachary Evans

Today we ran down The SwampDawg, our unidentified, unnamed, all-knowing source to see what the likelihood that each of these young men become Bulldogs.

Zachary Evans, RB (#1 Overall) SwampDawg's Score: 33%

PS. before you go any further, watch that video. If not just for the last clip on it. (He kills em)

Evans announced his "final 5" last week, and UGA was sitting firmly in it. This versatile running back out of North Shore High School in Houston, Texas can do it all out of the backfield. The SwampDawg seems to believe it's a three-team race between LSU, Bama, and UGA, with TAMU with a longshot chance.

Evans's 3.84 pro shuttle at The Opening this spring would have been by far the quickest shuttle of any player at this years NFL Combine. (David Long, Michigan 3.97)

That type of elite athleticism pops on the film as well. He often times makes things seem a little too easy in high school, but how could he not? His patience is on an elite level for a kid with his kind of breakaway speed. He's surely set to be the nation's next top back, and it'd be fitting he do so in Athens.

Jordan Burch 1

Jordan Burch DE, (#5 Overall) SwampDawg's Score: 50%

The Gamecock faithful continue to hope and pray they have a shot here with Jordan Burch, the nation's #1 Defensive End prospect. He does hail from their back yard their in Columbia, but it is believed Burch is making his decision between USC, Clemson, and UGA.

Burch is a freaky athlete at 6'5 250 pounds, he's more than capable of playing hoops on the D1 level. He catches bodies as you can see.

But as for Burch the football player, he's a relentless pursuer of the football and has displayed an ability to bend. Oh, and he played running back in high school too. Sorry to those poor children that had to tackle him, or at least tried.

97169

Kelee Ringo CB, (#9 Overall) SwampDawg's Score: 90%

There's not much we haven't already said about Kelee Ringo here on The Bulldog Maven. We have talked about him plenty. The SwampDawg seems to think Ringo is essentially a lock to commit to UGA.

That would be incredible news for a UGA team that will assumably lose the majority of it's starting defensive back group after this season with Richard LeCounte and J.R. Reed headed to the NFL. So, Ringo's arrival on the field in the fall of 2020 would be a godsend.

27272

Arik Gilbert, TE (#10 Overall) SwampDawg's Score: 90%

This giant of a tight end from Marietta high school is the state's second best player, and it'd be a crying shame to let him and Myles Murphy out of the state. Luckily, unlike Murphy, Georgia is the most likely option for Gilbert.

The tight ends group at UGA has seen deeper days, so Gilbert should have a chance to get in and play early at Georgia.

Gilbert has shown elite athleticism for his size but could use some seasoning in his route running skills. Nonetheless, he will be a pivotal piece in the future assuming he does indeed come to UGA.

7037

Darnell Washington, TE (#14 Overall) SwampDawg's Score: 60%

These two 5-star TE's, Gilbert & Washington, are both superior athletes. The combination between the size and speed at the position that these two young men possess is extremely rare.

That being said, could it be possible that the commitment from one will deter the other? Very much so. Gilbert has stated that he will make his announcement prior to the start of his senior season at Marietta, so it is reasonable to assume Washington will take that into account.

There is however a possibility that Kirby Smart and staff could swing them both, and pull off the unthinkable, two 5-star TE's in one class.

78357

Justin Flowe, ILB (#3 Overall) SwampDawg's Score: 60%

Justin Flowe is the nation's highest-rated inside linebacker, and to be honest, it's really not even close. Put it this way, Flowe is the nation's #1 inside linebacker and is #3 overall. Antoine Sampah is the #2 inside linebacker and is rated #32 overall.

So the gap is pretty large between Flowe and the next best, and to me, it will only get bigger over this last season of high school for this man amongst boys. I don't want to overstate things, but Flowe had no business playing against high schoolers last season as a junior.

I genuinely feel for the young men that have to play him this season. I'd suggest faking a tummy ache there, gentlemen.
