It's no secret that Kirby Smart and his staff have figured out this recruiting thing. At least enough to ensure their annual spot among the top-5 in national recruiting rankings, and more often than not vying for the top spot.

The best recruiters are the coaches that decided a long time ago that it's the Jimmy's and the Joe's, not the X's and the O's. Thus, they spend every waking moment thinking about and chasing the next recruit, the next class, the next star.

Therefore, whenever the bye week approaches, it's time for plane tickets and rental cars. Georgia assistants are now out looking to add further commits to the 2020 & 2021 class.

The 2020 class has a bit of work left to do in terms of commitments, with just 16 they have fewer than any team in the top-10 rankings (currently 6th). So, the staff will look to spend some quality time in the hometowns of some of the nation's biggest recruits.

The obvious goal is to chase Clemson's #1 spot down, and it's a reasonable one considering the talent left uncommitted in the 2020 class. Darnell Washington, Theo Johnson, Zach Evans, Arik Gilbert, Noah Sewell, ALL 5-stars that Georgia has a legitimate shot at, if not lead.
