Former Georgia Tech Center Cyril Martynov Commits to Eastern Michigan
Former Georgia Tech freshman center Cyril Martynov has found his new home via the transfer portal.
Martynov announced today that he is going to be transferring to Eastern Michigan.
Martynov came to Georgia Tech as a freshman last season and he only played in seven games this season.
Last summer, Martynov had narrowed his choices down to four schools, Wisconsin, Northwestern, and Missouri being the other choices. He reclassified to the class of 2022, which was a welcome development for Georgia Tech, which was a team that needed more size, but Martynov could not find his way onto the court last season.
Martynov is the second Yellow Jacket to find a new home after entering the portal. Forward Freds Pauls Bagatskis announced on Sunday that he is transferring to UT-Arlington.
Head coach Damon Stoudamire has had to do a lot of work to replace the guys that left through the portal and is doing a pretty good job of replacing them.
Today, Ole Miss point guard Amaree Abram committed to the Yellow Jackets, giving them one of the best remaining players in the portal.
Abram becomes the fifth transfer to commit to the Yellow Jackets under head coach Damon Stoudamire. Abram is going to be joining Kowacie Reeves (Florida), Ebenezer Dowuona (NC State), Tyzhaun Claude (Western Carolina), and Tafara Gapare (UMass) as the transfers joining the program this offseason.
