Two More Georgia Tech 2024 Targets Set Visit Dates In April

Georgia Tech is trying to gain some early momentum in the 2024 cycle

Recruiting season is in full swing right now for Georgia Tech.

The Yellow Jackets got their second commitment of the 2024 class today with running back Duke Watson (Forsyth, GA) joining quarterback Jakhari Williams (Macon, GA) in the Yellow Jackets class. It has been a busy weekend of visits for Brent Key and the staff and two more 2024 targets announced today that they would be taking visits to Atlanta next month.

South Gwinnett offensive tackle Marcus Mascoll and McEachern cornerback back Daniel James tweeted today that they are going to be in town in early April to check out Georgia Tech.

Mascoll visited Georgia Tech in January and here is what he told me about that visit:

"I got to talk to Coach Key and Coach Wade and I was really nervous. They talked about how much they wanted me down there and one thing that stood out to me was that Coach Key talked about was how he wanted us to be able to graduate and be good football players."

I asked Mascoll about his recruiting timeline right now and how he plans to approach things and he kept the answer pretty simple: just take it slow.

"I'm just enjoying the process and taking it slow right now. Just taking it slow."

In terms of other schools that he might be looking at, he mentioned two that have stood out to him and that was NC State and South Carolina. He visited the Gamecocks in January and tweeted that he has a visit lined up with NC State in April.

These are going to be two targets to watch in this recruiting class and both would be good in-state additions. Let's see how the visits go next month and who else might be joining these two players on visits.

After the commitment of Watson today, Georgia Tech's 2024 class is now ranked 51st on 247Sports.
