Corey Kispert off to hot start for Washington Wizards

Kispert has quietly become one of the best 3-point shooters in the NBA

The Gonzaga men's basketball program has more players in the NBA than ever before, and Corey Kispert might be the most under-the-radar former Zag.

After a solid rookie year for the Washington Wizards in 2021-22, when he averaged 8.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and shot 35% from the 3-point line, Kispert made a big leap in his second NBA season.

Kispert drained 163 3-pointers last season, and he did it at a 42.4% clip. That put him at No. 10 in the NBA in 3-point percentage, which quietly confirmed that he is one of the best 3-point shooters in the NBA.

Kispert has picked up where he left off last season. On Saturday night he scored 22 points and connected on 5-of-10 3-pointers to help lead the Wizards to a 113-106 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. All of Kispert's points came in the first half as he sparked Washington to a 62-46 halftime lead. He finished 8-of-14 from the field in 32 minutes.
