Former Gonzaga men's basketball freshman Marcus Adams Jr. is no longer attending the school, according to a report from Joe Tipton of On3sports on Sunday.

Adams, who transferred from Kansas to Gonzaga on July 22, is searching for his third program before appearing in a college basketball game. He will likely need a waiver to play this upcoming season.

The 6-foot-8 wing was a 4-star recruit who was ranked 49th in the Class of 2023 by 247Sports. Last season, he averaged 28.8 points and 6.8 rebounds for Narbonne High School in Harbor City, California.

The reason for Adams' exit from Gonzaga is unclear, but he wasn't expected to play significant minutes for this year's team. Despite losing first-round NBA Draft pick Julian Strawther, the Zags are deep at the wing position with Steele Venters, Dusty Stromer, Luka Krajnovic and Jun Seok Yeo.

Adams made his initial commitment to Kansas in early March as a member of the school's 2024 recruiting class. He later decided to reclassify to join the Jayhawks this season.

Adams trained for approximately one month in Lawrence, Kansas, before deciding to enter the transfer portal and reopen his recruitment. He chose Gonzaga as his new home, but apparently, it wasn't the right fit either.
