Women's college basketball rankings: Gonzaga falls to No. 19 in final AP Top 25 poll (3/13/23)

The program has finished inside the top-25 of the poll in four of the past five seasons

The Gonzaga women's basketball team was listed as No. 19 in the season's final Associated Press Top 25 poll released Monday.

The Zags (28-4) dropped three spots in the national rankings after losing 64-60 to Portland in the West Coast Conference Tournament championship last Tuesday.

Gonzaga, which was unranked for the first three weeks, peaked at No. 15 during the season. The program has finished inside the top-25 in four of the past five years.

The Zags are the No. 9 seed in the Midwest Region of the NCAA Tournament. They will open March Madness against No. 8 seed Ole Miss at 7 p.m. PST on Friday in Palo Alto, California.

Defending champion South Carolina sits atop the poll, becoming the third program to be No. 1 in the poll for the entire season in back-to-back years. The Gamecocks are the top overall seed in the NCAA Tournament.
