Saint Mary's (19-6, 10-0 WCC) has been perfect so far in 2024, with the Gaels' last loss coming on December 23 of last year.
Since that loss (a 69-64 defeat at the hands of Missouri State), they have won 11 consecutive games, including all 10 of their conference matchups.
Having now beaten every team in the WCC and with just six games left on the schedule, the Gaels have a legitimate chance of running the table in conference play.
Allowing just 57.9 points per contest, they are the third-best defensive team in the NCAA, trailing only Houston (54.4 ppg) and Virginia (56.9 ppg)
Portland (9-16, 3-7 WCC) won both of its games last week against Pacific and Pepperdine, but the Pilots are in the midst of their toughest week of the season, facing Saint Mary's on Saturday after losing to Gonzaga on Thursday.
With four players averaging double-digit scoring numbers, Portland is the fourth-highest-scoring team in the WCC, but the Pilots struggle to slow down opposing offenses, ranking last in the conference defensively with nearly 81 points allowed per game.
Senior guard Tyler Robertson is their best offensive weapon, ranking second in the WCC in scoring with 16.0 ppg.
