Santa Clara (12-7, 3-1 WCC) enters this matchup on the heels of a week that saw the Broncos post both their biggest win of the season as well as possibly their worst game of the year.
They began the week with a 77-76 upset win over formerly No. 23 Gonzaga that knocked the Bulldogs out of the national rankings, but followed that game up with a season-low scoring performance in a 73-49 loss to Saint Mary's.
Five players finished with double figures to help Santa Clara end a 26-game losing streak against Gonzaga, but the Broncos were unable to keep their momentum rolling versus a stout Saint Mary's defense that leads the WCC with just 58.6 points allowed per game.
With a 1-1 week, Santa Clara now sits in third place in the WCC standings trailing only Saint Mary's and San Francisco.
Pacific (6-13, 0-4 WCC) is riding a four-game losing streak after failing to secure a win in its first four WCC games of the season.
The Tigers nearly kicked off conference play with a bang but fell just short in a 92-88 overtime loss to San Francisco before suffering three consecutive double-digit losses on the road against Portland, Pepperdine and Loyola Marymount.
They have struggled to find their footing on both sides of the ball so far this season, and are currently last in the WCC for points per game (66.7) and eighth in points allowed (76.4).
Judson Martindale (10.2 ppg) is the only player averaging double-digit scoring numbers or ranked in the top 25 scorers in the conference.
