Indiana's Teri Moren Named Head Coach of USA Basketball Women’s U18 National Team

Indiana women's basketball head coach Teri Moren will debut as a head coach with USA Basketball in June 2024 after prior assistant roles.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana women’s basketball head coach Teri Moren was announced as the head coach of the USA Basketball Women’s U18 National Team Thursday. It will be Moren’s head coaching debut with USA Basketball, following gold medals as an assistant for the FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup and 2022 FIBA U18 Women’s Americas Championship.

“I am grateful to be chosen as the head coach of the 2024 U18 National Team,” Moren said in Thursday’s release. “It is an honor and humbling experience anytime you are asked to be a part of USA Basketball and represent your country. I look forward to leading some of the very best young players in the country and work alongside some excellent colleagues in pursuit of a gold medal this summer.”

The coaching selection process for the U18 National Team was conducted by the USA Basketball Women’s Junior National Team Committee, and the selections were approved by the USA Basketball Board of Directors. Moren will be assisted by Niele Ivey and Jose Fernandez, the women’s head coaches for Notre Dame and South Florida, respectively. The staff will lead the U.S. team at the 2024 FIBA U18 Women’s AmeriCup from June 17-23, seeking the country’s 11th-consecutive gold medal in the event.
