Austin Peay Cornerback Cedarius Doss Transfers to Indiana

After being named a 2023 PFF FCS All-American at Austin Peay, Cedarius Doss will transfer to Indiana for the 2024 season.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – New Indiana football coach Curt Cignetti reinforced his defensive backfield on Sunday, picking up a commitment from Austin Peay transfer Cedarius Doss.

Doss is a 5-foot-8, 176-pound cornerback. Playing all 12 games for a 9-3 Austin Peay team in 2023, Doss made 35 total tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss. He had seven pass breakups, three interceptions and one forced fumble.

Doss earned several postseason honors in 2023, including a spot on Pro Football Focus' FCS All-American first team and the All-United Athletic Conference second team. He was named UAC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 25 after intercepting two passes in a win at Stephen F. Austin.

He played eight games for Austin Peay during the 2022 season, totaling 26 tackles, four tackles for loss and two sacks. Doss also broke up eight passes on the season and intercepted a pass against Alabama. He joined Austin Peay for the spring 2021 season and he played just one game in the fall 2021 season.

Doss began his career at Tuskegee University and did not play during the 2019 season. He committed to Tuskegee out of Ramsay High School in Birmingham, Ala.

Following the 2023 season, Indiana lost defensive backs Noah Pierre, Phillip Dunnam, Jordan Grier, Jordan Shaw, Louis Moore and James Monds III. Cignetti retained defensive backs that played significant snaps on the 2023 roster, including Nic Toomer, Jamari Sharpe, Josh Sanguinetti, Kobee Minor, Tyrik McDaniel, JoJo Johnson, Jamier Johnson, Amare Ferrell and Bryson Bonds. Indiana also added defensive back transfers Terry Jones and Shawn Asbury II from Old Dominion.

Indiana wraps up its first spring practice session under Cignetti with Thursday's spring game at 8 p.m. ET at Memorial Stadium.
