Jordan Allen is a three-star wideout from Buford High School in Buford, Georgia that recently received an offer from the Kansas Jayhawks. The 5-foot-8 170-pound prospect went into detail earlier this week about his Kansas offer and more. Click HERE for that content.

Following that conversation, Blue Wings Rising spoke with Marcus, his father, to get a more complete picture of the prospect.

“I think it’s his work ethic and football IQ that separates him.” Marcus said. “He’s truly a student of the game. He loves to train both his body and mind. He asks his mother to record his games so he can critique his footwork and route running. He watches all sorts of videos to improve his skill set. He really just enjoys competition and being the best player he can be.”

Marcus talks more about his son on the field. “He’s coachable. He listens to his coaches and always gives the team 110%. He may make a mistake but he won’t make that same mistake again. He does whatever is needed to make the team successful. He’s a great route runner with impeccable hand-eye coordination. He rarely drops passes if they’re thrown anywhere near him. He’s shifty and explosive when running routes and getting out of his breaks. He’s able to evaluate defenses pre-snap to determine the routes he is going to run and coverage weaknesses. He is a true student of the game.”

It’s always interesting and intriguing to find out more about the athlete outside of school and sports. “He is the middle of 3 boys. They’re all 4 years apart. If he’s not doing something football-related, he’s probably playing the game with his brothers, on the phone with friends or just taking time for himself alone. He does come into my room so we can go over film and clips. He and his mother like to take trips to Dollar General for snacks. He’s an awesome kid!”

Many can agree that grades play a huge factor for athletes across the nation. “He’s a great student. He’s in a mix of AP and Honors classes. He has a 3.7 GPA. He’s on a business pathway in school. He works in the Wolves Den (the school store)for his work-based learning class to help him better understand business. Buford is an awesome school and he loves it there.”

“He has always been a “whatever it takes” guy,” Marcus stated. “Sometimes it’s in your face and sometimes it’s more subtle but it all comes from wanting everyone to be their best self. He wouldn’t ask anyone to do something that he wouldn’t do himself. He wants to be a role model for younger players and someone his family can be proud of. He has received the Coaches Award for all 3 years in high school. Only a couple are given out per class. The awards exemplify integrity, teamwork, excellence, and leadership. He wants everyone to succeed. When people watch him, they will always see him giving 1000%. Attitude, effort, and execution.”
