Kentucky took a significant fall in the ESPN FPI rankings after the win over EKU

Kentucky dropped a bunch of spots in ESPN's FPI rankings.

The Kentucky Wildcats were able to take down the EKU Colonels, but it wasn't a pretty showing.

A win is a win, but Kentucky has lots of things to clean up before SEC play begins.

Devin Leary did have a much better second half against EKU, which has many Cats fans hoping he is ready to break out.

After the win over EKU, the Cats dropped from the 26th spot to the 41st spot in the ESPN FPI rankings.

Kentucky's projected record dropped from 7.4-4.6 to 6.5-5.5 after the ugly win.

Heading into the EKU matchup, Kentucky's chances of winning six games were at 87.6%. Now, after the EKU game, the Cat's chances are down to 73.8%.

The Cat's chances of winning the SEC East dropped from 5.3% to 2.2% after the EKU game.

ESPN's FPI numbers give the Cats a 95.2% chance to beat the Akron Zips on Saturday under the lights in Kroger Field.

These rankings have found something they don't like in Kentucky, which gives Mark Stoops's team a chance to prove the FPI numbers wrong.

Many feel the tide will turn for this UK team soon, and things will start to look better before the gauntlet of conference play begins.
