It's time for Kentucky baseball to be taken seriously

The 2024 Kentucky baseball team is off to a hot start.

Despite hosting a regional in 2023 and making it to a Super Regional against the soon to be National Champions LSU, Kentucky's baseball team received little respect heading into the 2024 season.

Coach Nick Mingione did a good job bringing in talent via the transfer portal, which has made this team much better in 2024.

Although no one looked at this Kentucky baseball team as a serious threat, they have had an incredible start to the season as they sit 24-4 overall and 8-1 in SEC play.

Winning on the road in the SEC has become a tough thing to do yet the Wildcats are 5-1 in conference play with a road sereis win over Missouri and a sweep of Ole Miss at Swayze.

After starting SEC play 5-1, many didn't believe in this Kentucky team as Missouri and Georgia are two of the worst teams in the conference, but sweeping Ole Miss on the road proves this team belongs.

We will learn a lot about this baseball team this week as they host Louisville for a midweek matchup and then host #11 Alabama for a three-game series.

If the Wildcats can go 3-1 this week with a win over Louisville and a series win over the Alabama Crimson Tide, it will prove to the college baseball world that this team belongs.

This team does the little things right, and that will help them when it comes to the postseason.

If Kentucky keeps up this pace, Kentucky Proud Park will once again host a Regional.
