Aaron Bradshaw Could Miss Beginning of 2023-24 Season With Fractured Foot

The Wildcats' prized big man might be on the shelf when UK takes the court for the first time next season.

An awful offseason has somehow turned worse for Kentucky basketball.

On Friday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that incoming 5-star freshman forward Aaron Bradshaw has suffered a foot fracture and could miss the beginning of the 2023-24 season:

Rumors had previously swirled surrounding a potential injury to the No. 4 player in the 2023 class (On3 Consensus) before he got to campus in the beginning of June. Kentucky Sports Radio's Jack Pilgrim later confirmed that the injury is not new and happened "several" weeks ago. Pilgrim also reported that the injury "is expected to need surgery and is expected to keep him out four to six months."

Kentucky is taking part in the 2023 GLOBL JAM, representing the United States in an international basketball showcase in Toronto from July 12-16. Without Bradshaw, UK will have four scholarship guards — Rob Dillingham, Reed Sheppard, DJ Wagner and Adou Thiero — and three forwards — Justin Edwards, Jordan Burks and Ugonna Onyenso — available, with Onyenso being the only big of the bunch.

Head coach John Calipari is expected to add a seventh freshmen to UK's 2023 class on Saturday, as 3-star guard Joey Hart is announcing his decision, with the Wildcats being the current frontrunner to land the commitment.

The woes continue in the Bluegrass.
