Kentucky Defeats Germany 81-73 to Open GLOBL JAM

The Cats open their Toronto trip with a bang.

Kentucky basketball opened its GLOBL JAM tenure with a surprising win over Germany, defeating Deutschland 81-73 on Wednesday afternoon in Toronto. 

While its been freshmen taking the spotlight in Lexington this offseason, it was UK's two veterans that made the difference, as returning shooting guard Antonio Reeves led the way with 24 points, while West Virginia transfer forward Tre Mitchell poured in 20 points to go with six rebounds and three assists. 

Combo guard DJ Wagner led the Wildcat freshmen with 16 points and six dimes. Kentucky shot 41 percent from the floor, including 33 percent from 3-point range, canning nine treys. Freshman forward Justin Edwards led the team with nine rebounds.

UK's defense collected 10 steals and five blocks, holding up well against an experienced Germany team filled with pro-level talent.
