It's a weird time for the Kentucky basketball program as the Kentucky Wildcats are looking for a new head coach, and since this all became official, the only names we have heard are Dan Hurley and Scott Drew.

Nate Oats was a name mentioned early, but he quickly pulled his name out of the race, making Drew and Hurley the two legit candidates.

It sounds like Drew really wants the Kentucky job but is having an internal struggle about what is the best move for him and his family.

Andrew Stefaniak and Carson Nash of the Wildcats Today Podcast believe Scott Drew will be the hire. He has a lot of proven success, including a National Championship in 2021. Scott Drew could also bring a ton of talent from Baylor with him, including VJ Edgecombe.

Stefaniak and Nash both believe Drew is a better X's and O's coach than Calipari and is also an elite recruiter. With the resources Drew would have at Kentucky and the brand of Kentucky basketball, he would walk into immediate success.

Stefaniak and Nash also talk about Hurley and discuss how this door might not be 100% closed, but they both would be shocked if he was Kentucky's next head basketball coach.

Both Stefaniak and Nash believe that if Drew is the next coach at Kentucky, Edgecombe will follow him and be a big part of the 2024-25 basketball roster.
