Game Day Live Blog: Louisville at DePaul | Game 9

The Cardinals stay on the road after some extra days off for a matchup with the Blue Demons.

CHICAGO - After a few extra days off following their ACC opener at Virginia Tech, the Louisville men's basketball program is resuming non-conference play, staying on the road for a matchup with former longtime conference foe DePaul.

In their last game against the Hokies, the Cardinals had a chance to establish their longest winning streak under head coach Kenny Payne, but late game execution once again came back to bite them. Trailing by only a point with 1:58 left, UofL allowed VT to go on an 8-2 run to end the game, resulting in a 75-68 loss that marked their 20th consecutive road defeat.

As for the Blue Demons, year three under head coach Tony Stubblefield has been a disaster. Their one win on the season came against South Dakota, they have three losses to sub-100 teams in the KenPom rankings, and their four games against top-100 KenPom teams were lost by an average margin of 16.3 points, including a 25-point beatdown at Texas A&M.
