LOUISVILLE, Ky. - With the 2023-24 roster for the Louisville men's basketball now set, the bulk of their recruiting efforts have now shifted almost exclusively to the Class of 2024.

After extending a scholarship offer to Milwaukee (Wisc.) Wisconsin Lutheran small forward Kon Knueppel back in January, head coach Kenny Payne and the Cardinals have now locked him in for an official visit. According to 247Sports' Travis Branham, Knueppel will be taking an official visit to Louisville in June. The exact date of the visit was not revealed.

The junior has already drawn a fair amount of high-major interest with Illinois, Iowa, Marquette, Miami, Minnesota, Texas A&M, USC and Wisconsin having already offered him. Knueppel has also been offered by and taken official visits to Notre Dame, Stanford and Virginia.

The 6-foot-5, 205-pound wing/shooting guard ranks as high as the No. 17 prospect in the nation according to On3, with 247Sports recruiting analyst Brandon Jenkins calling him "arguably the best shooter in his class." Jenkins lists his pro comparison as Kyle Korver, who is one of the most prolific three-point shooters in NBA history.

So far out on the Nike EYBL circuit with Phenom University this offseason, he has lived up to that billing. Heading into Sunday's action in the EYBL, Knueppel is fourth in the circuit in scoring with 19.7 points per game, while also logging 5.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists. He is also shooting 47.0 percent from the field and a blazing 45.5 percent on three point attempts.

Payne has been relatively selective in who he chooses to give a scholarship offer to, as Knueppel is one of just eight uncommitted prospects in the 2024 cycle to receive a Louisville offer so far. The Cardinals' lone commitment in the class is from Montclair (N.J.) Immaculate Conception point guard T.J. Robinson.
