LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville men's basketball head coach Kenny Payne has started to establish a reputation as someone who is incredibly selective in who he chooses to offer a scholarship to. That being said, it seems he and his staff have found their next target in the Class of 2024.

Studio City (Calif.) Harvard-Westlake guard Trent Perry announced Thursday night that he has been offered a scholarship to play for the Cardinals.

Heading into his senior season, Perry has generated a fair amount of high major interest. He currently holds 19 total scholarship offers, including ones from USC, Oklahoma, Oregon, Notre Dame, Virginia, Stanford and others. He ranks as high as the No. 12 point guard in the class and the No. 52 prospect in the nation, according to ESPN.

The 6-foot-4, 175-pound guard has been extremely productive out on the offseason basketball circuits so far this summer. At the NBA PA Top 100 camp in June, he averaged 12.0 points, 4.3 assists and 3.6 rebounds over the course of five games played. Playing for Las Vegas Elite at the Nike Peach Jame earlier this month, he put up 13.0 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game while shooting 45.2 percent from the field and going 34-of-36 at the free throw line.

Where Perry goes, winning typically follows. He helped Las Vegas Elite go 4-1 in pool play at the Peach Jam, then they reached the championship game before falling to Team Takeover. He also helped Harvard-Westlake go 33-2 during the 2022-23 season, which included a state championship in the CIF Open Division and a No. 39 national ranking by MaxPreps. In the title game against St. Joseph, he was two rebounds away from a triple-double, putting up 16 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds.

Currently, nine uncommitted prospects in the cycle have received a Louisville offer so far. The Cardinals' lone commitment in the class is from Montclair (N.J.) Immaculate Conception point guard T.J. Robinson.
