2023 Holiday Bowl Opt-Out Tracker
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Game day is almost here.
The Louisville and USC football programs are set to do battle in just a few more days, squaring off from Petco Park in San Diego, Calif. for the 2023 edition of the Holiday Bowl.
Louisville has had a successful year one under head coach Jeff Brohm. The Cardinals not only made it to the ACC Championship for the first time since joining the league in 2014, they clinched their first ten-win season since 2013.
As for USC, they got off to a hot start under second-year head coach Lincoln Riley, winning their first six games to be ranked as high as the No. 6 team in the nation. However, the Trojans have lost five of their last six heading into the postseason.
The Holiday Bowl should be an exciting matchup, pitting two of college football's best offensive minds against each other. But in this age of college football, neither team is going to be at full strength. Whether it be due to the transfer portal or NFL Draft, both Louisville and USC have their fair share of opt-outs for the bowl game
