Louisville Opens as 40.5-Point Home Favorite vs. Murray State

The Cardinals will play their first home game of the Jeff Brohm era against the Racers.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville football program opened up the Jeff Brohm era with a hard fought win over Georgia Tech, and as they prepare to host Murray State for their home opener, oddsmakers like them to improve to 2-0 on the young season.

According to FanDuel, the Cardinals have opened up as a huge -40.5 point favorite to the visiting Racers. The over/under has been set at 54.0.

Louisville (1-0, 1-0 ACC) didn't make it easy on themselves against Georgia Tech, but they found a way to come out on top in their 2023 opener. Facing a 28-13 deficit at halftime, the Cardinals then proceeded to storm back and score 27 unanswered points, nearly pitching a second half shut out in the process.

As for Murray State (1-0, 0-0 MVC), they also opened up their season with a win, taking down Presbyterian to the tune of 41-10. The Racers out-gained the Blue Hose 484-159, and scored 31 unanswered points to pull away with the blowout win.

The Cardinals were able to pick up the season-opening win, but are 0-1 against-the-spread after failing to cover the -7.5 spread against Georgia Tech. Conversely, the Racers are 1-0 ATS after covering the massive -28.5 spread against Presbyterian.

Kickoff vs. Murray State is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 7 at 7:30 p.m. EST.
