Louisville DE Ashton Gillotte Earns All-American Honors from The Athletic

The defensive end from Boca Raton earned First-Team All-ACC honors, and leads the team in sacks and tackles for loss.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville defensive lineman Ashton Gillotte was named a second team All-American by The Athletic on Wednesday morning.

A first team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honoree, Gillotte enters the postseason ranked eighth nationally in sacks with 11.0, which is tied for ninth on the school’s single-season list. The Boca Raton native started all 13 games, recording a career best 45 tackles and 14.5 tackles for loss on a defense that ranked 16th nationally.

A junior, Gillotte recorded a career best 3.0 sacks in a win over Boston College and a pair against Duke in a 23-0 shutout victory over the Blue Devils.

Gillotte has been credited with 22.0 career sacks and 30.5 tackles for loss in 37 career games for the Cardinals.

Louisville continues its season on Dec. 27 versus USC in the 2023 Holiday Bowl in San Diego, Calif.
