'24 OL Ransom McDermott Commits to Louisville

The offensive tackle from Indiana is the fourth commitment for the Cardinals in the 2024 recruiting class.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - It didn't take long for recruiting in the Class of 2024 for the Louisville football program to pick back up following the end of spring ball.

Noblesville (Ind.) HS offensive lineman Ransom McDermott announced Saturday that he has given his verbal pledge to the Cardinals. He chose Louisville over held offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia and others.

McDermott's commitment to Louisville comes less than 24 hours removed from the conclusion of the Cardinals' spring game on Friday night, where he was one of several dozen high school prospects in attendance.

The 6-foot-7, 300-pound offensive tackle was originally offered by Scott Satterfield and his staff, and had taken several visits to campus. He had also been recruited by Jeff Brohm while he was at Purdue, and that mutual interest carried over to the Cardinals when Brohm returned to his alma mater.

He is ranked as the No. 47 offensive tackle and No. 7 prospect in the state of Indiana by 247Sports' in house rankings, and is slotted as the No. 917 prospect in the 2024 class by the 247Sports Composite.

Louisville now sports a four-man recruiting class in the 2024 cycle with McDermott's commitment. Five-star Miami (Fla.) Columbus linebacker T.J. Capers, four-star Homestead (Fla.) HS running back Isaac Brown and three-star New Braunfels (Tex.) Canyon quarterback Deuce Adams also in the fold.
