Tight ends add Davis for WKU
Scott Satterfield wants to utilize tight ends in his offense.
The Cardinal head coach has shown as much in the first two games.
Louisville football adds depth at tight end position with the return of Jordan Davis, who missed the first two games of the 2019 season due to an academic issue. The Cardinals (1-1) have utilized Marshon Ford at the H-Back position in the opening weeks.
Ford has five receptions for 69 yards and two touchdowns. He had a 37-yard reception against Notre Dame. Ford's first career touchdown came on Louisville's opening drive against Eastern Kentucky.
Satterfield wants to continue to find ways to get red-shirt freshman the ball.
"I think he [Ford] is a dynamic tight end with match ups on linebackers," Satterfield said. "He is quicker and faster than the backers and able to make plays."

Ean Pfiefer sits atop the depth chart at tight end heading into the third week of the season. Satterfield said the graduate transfer from Vanderbilt has lost weight since his time at the SEC school.
"Ean has been our own the ball tight end for us and has done a really good job," Satterfield said.
Davis adds another threat for the Louisville offense. The 6-foot-4 senior has eight receptions for 118 yards and two touchdowns in 32 career games.
"He's got some great size, you know great talent you know I would say he has not lived up to his talent since he's been here," Satterfield said. "He's got a lot of potential, hopefully he'll reach that potential. There's times we've seen it in practice and were like 'wow, this guy can be really good' because of his size, his power and his speed."
Davis didn't get many reps in practice in the past two weeks as Louisville prepared for Notre Dame and Eastern Kentucky, so Satterfield believes it will take time for Davis to get comfortable in the offense.
