Louisville's Brock Travelstead Named ACC Specialist of the Week

The kicker for the Cardinals went 4-for-4 on field goals and averaged 46.2 yards per punt against the Yellow Jackets

Press Release from the University of Louisville:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville football team's Brock Travelstead was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Specialist of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

In the Cardinals' 39-34 comeback victory over Georgia Tech at the Aflac Kickoff Classic, Travelstead handled both the punting and placekicking duties to become the first punter/kicker combination since Chris Philpott did it in 2011.

He was a perfect 4-for-4 on field goals, connecting on tries from 33, 30, 22 and 38. He became the sixth kicker in school history to make 4-of-4 field goal attempts in a game, joining Nate Smith, Art Carmody, Chris Philpott, Blanton Creque, and James Turner.

Punting for the first time, Travelstead averaged 46.2 yards a punt, including a long of 48 yards. Travelstead is only the third kicker in Louisville history to make his first four field goal attempts, joining James Turner and John Wallace. The junior had not attempted a field goal in his first two seasons with the Cards.

Travelstead and the Cards are back in action Thursday, Sept. 7 for their first home game of the season against Murray State. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 pm ET at L&N Stadium.
