LSU Guard Adam Miller To Enter NCAA Transfer Portal

The Chicago native struggled at times this season, looking for a fresh start elsewhere.

LSU guard Adam Miller will enter the NCAA Transfer, LSU Country has learned. The sophomore guard is the sixth Tiger to enter the portal after Justice Hill, Justice Williams, Kendal Coleman, Cornelious Williams and Shawn Phillips announced their departures.

Miller had an underwhelming second season in Baton Rouge. After missing his first year after recovering from a torn ACL, it was expected Miller would take on a major workload and give the Tigers a significant boost in the 2022-23 season, but it was a rollercoaster for the Chicago native.

Miller averaged 11.5 points and 2.3 rebounds on 33% shooting from the field. Struggling to get in a rhythm all season, the former four-star prospect will look to for a fresh start in what will be his third college in four years.

Before his time in Baton Rouge, Miller spent a year at Illinois, his hometown team.

Transfer Portal Additions

LSU has already added two critical pieces to their backcourt in Vanderbilt transfer Jordan Wright and Tulane transfer Jalen Cook.

Wright was surgical for the Commodores. A player who can score in the blink of an eye, he fills an immediate need for the Tigers where he will spend his final year of eligibility.

For McMahon and his squad, they got their first big fish via the portal as transfer season gets underway with Wright. After spending four years in Nashville, Wright played in 124 games, starting in 74 of them where he averaged 9.5 points per game for his career.

The 6-foot-6 guard can get buckets in a hurry as he continues improving his three-point shot. He’s a 41.8 percent shooter from the field and 31.5 percent from 3-point range.

For Cook, the two-time First Team All-AAC star gives the Tigers their point guard for the 2023 season. The electrifying guard is fresh off of a dominant year after averaging 19.9 points and 4.9 assists for the Green Wave. One of the top guards in the portal, McMahon made a huge splash in securing Cook, who received interest from over 40 schools once entering the portal.

The Tigers are in the midst of a roster overhaul after an underwhelming 2022-23 season. Despite losing Miller and five other pieces, the transfer portal will be McMahon’s best friend as he retools his roster for the future.
