LSU MBB Recruiting: The Latest On The Tigers' Targets

Matt McMahon and Co. sent shockwaves across the college basketball recruiting scene over the weekend after securing a commitment from four-star, Top 35 prospect Curtis Givens III.

LSU has picked up steam on the recruiting trail after landing both Givens and four-star forward Robert Miller III with this program looking to carry its momentum further.

Who’s on LSU’s radar? What’s the latest on “The Trail”?

A recruiting update on a few of LSU’s targets:

Billy Richmond… The four-star, Top 25 prospect in the 2024 class is down to four schools with LSU making the cut alongside Memphis, Alabama and Kentucky. It’s good company for the Tigers to be in as they continue making their push for the elite small forward. Richmond has made his way down to campus this fall with head coach Matt McMahon also getting in for an in-home visit. LSU is battling here for the coveted prospect with Kentucky emerging as a serious threat.

Gicarri Harris… The four-star wing is at the top of LSU’s wish list in the 2024 cycle with this program turning up the heat for the Top 75 prospect. There are several suitors here for the prized Georgia native with Virginia Tech, Purdue and Georgia Tech, among others, pushing for his services. Sources with familiarity to the situation feel LSU is in a good spot but will continue being a battle with no commitment date locked in just yet.

Vyctorius Miller… LSU has been in Miller’s ear for months now as this program makes up ground in his recruitment. A serious threat for the West coast talent will be USC as they continue ramping up their push. Miller has already been to town for an official visit and McMahon’s staff is prioritizing the elite-level player. No commitment date set but LSU is pushing.

Pair of Targets Set Commitment Dates:

Rakease Passmore… Passmore will make his college decision on Wednesday at 7pm ET. The four-star, Top 50 prospect is fresh off of an official visit with the Kansas Jayhawks with Bill Self’s program trending. LSU pulled off the surprise with four-star guard Curtis Givens over the weekend after securing his commitment. Can they do it again?

Nic Codie… The No. 1 player in Texas will announce his college decision on Nov. 2. Codie will choose between LSU, Houston, Texas, TCU, Miami, Virginia Tech and Auburn. The Tigers got Codie to town for an official visit this fall as LSU remains connected to him, but it’s a challenge to see where things stand at the moment.
