LSU WBB: Five-Star Target Sets Commitment Date

In this story:
Kim Mulkey and the reigning National Champion LSU Tigers remain in the hunt for America’s top 2024 point guard, Joyce Edwards. Now, the No. 2 player in the country has locked in her commitment date for Wednesday at 5:45pm ET.
Edwards will choose between LSU, South Carolina and Clemson on Wednesday as she signs during the Early Signing Period.
The Tigers have remained in constant contact with Edwards. A player at the top of this program’s wish list, Mulkey and Co. have done their due diligence with this one.
From dropping in to check out Edwards’ volleyball games this fall to holding in-home visits with her, the Tigers have made their push down the stretch, but it’ll be a battle to secure her services.
Edwards, a South Carolina native, has taken official visits to several of America’s top schools, including both LSU and the hometown Gamecocks.
Despite having a final three of LSU, Clemson and South Carolina, sources familiar with the situation believe this one will come down to the Tigers and Gamecocks as crunch time begins.
Less than 24 hours out until a decision, it’ll be interesting to monitor the “outside noise” surrounding a decision.

The Tigers have received a signature from one 2024 prospect during the Early Signing Period with the No. 1 player in Louisiana putting pen to paper. Jada Richard, a four-star guard, sent in her paperwork on the first day of the period last week.
The early period ends on Nov. 15 with LSU in the hunt for a trio of 2024 prospects, including Edwards.
The Tigers will continue their pursuit of Edwards along with Sarah Strong (America’s No. 1 prospect) and Jaloni Cambridge (America’s No. 3 prospect).
For Strong, she’s been all over the country this fall after taking visits to LSU, UCONN, North Carolina and more. Many assumed Strong would sign during the early period, but now, all signs point to her signing later. The coveted forward will have LSU in her ear with this program looking to make a splash on “The Trail” in the 2024 class.
When it comes to Cambridge, LSU hosted the No. 3 prospect in the country for an official visit last week. After arriving in Baton Rouge on Wednesday, she remained in town until Saturday afternoon. Now, decision time is on the horizon. Will Cambridge pop before the Early Signing Period ends or will she wait like Strong?
The Tigers will look to make a splash on the recruiting trail down the stretch as they sit with one 2024 commitment to this point in Jada Richard.
