LSU WBB Forward Alisa Williams Reveals Transfer Destination

In this story:
LSU forward Alisa Williams became the first player to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal from the Tigers’ 2023 National Championship squad, and after a short stint in the portal, she’s revealed her transfer destination.
Williams will take her talents to Iowa State after just one season in Baton Rouge. A freshman campaign where the Texas native saw limited action, she’ll head to the Midwest in search of making an immediate impact.
After appearing in 20 games for the Tigers off the bench, the 6-foot-2 forward joins a Cyclones program with a brand new roster heading into the 2023-24 season.

The new roster includes incoming freshmen Jalynn Bristow, Addy Brown, Audi Crooks, Arianna Jackson and Kelsey Joens. In the transfer portal, the Cyclones also added Isnelle Natabou and Hannah Belanger.
Williams is the first player to announce her departure from the 2023 roster, and after Kim Mulkey’s recruiting genius this offseason, it provided a difficult path for Williams to earn playing time.
The Tigers bring in the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class along with All-Americans Hailey Van Lith and Aneesah Morrow who highlight LSU’s No. 1 transfer portal class.
With reinforcements on the way as this program searches for back-to-back titles, Williams now finds herself heading to the Big 12 with the chance to impact a program that is on the rise moving forward.
The NCAA Transfer Portal has become the new way of building a “superteam” and that is precisely what Kim Mulkey’s program has created. After landing the No. 1 transfer in 2022, Angel Reese, her game exploded to new heights. The All-American took the nation by storm after averaging 23 points a night with 15.4 rebounds, leading the Tigers to their first title in program history.
But now the game has changed even more. Reese will team up with superstar point guard Hailey Van Lith in 2023 after she announced she’d be taking her game down South. With the addition of Van Lith, LSU has now added the No. 1 transfer in back-to-back years. Another huge win for Mulkey and her staff.
The success doesn’t stop there. This program also reeled in the No. 1 2023 recruiting class after signing Mikaylah Williams (No. 2 prospect) and Aalyah Del Rosario (No. 7 prospect), among others. Mulkey is on a mission to bring the best of the best to Baton Rouge and it’s been nothing short of a success thus far.
Certainly, some within the program will depart or stick it out in search of minutes, but moving forward it’ll be a dogfight to get playing time on such a gifted roster.
