LSU WBB: Kim Mulkey and the Tigers Hosting Five-Star Guard Jaloni Cambridge

In this story:
Kim Mulkey and the reigning National Champion LSU Tigers will host five-star guard Jaloni Cambridge for a multi-day stay in Baton Rouge as the No. 3 player in America locks in on making a decision.
Cambridge, the top guard in the 2024 class, arrived on campus Wednesday evening and will stay in town until Saturday afternoon, sources tell LSU Country.
For the Tigers coaching staff, it gives this program an opportunity to roll out the red carpet as well as have Cambridge on hand for LSU's ring ceremony on Thursday night.
Mulkey and assistant coaches Gary Redus and Bob Starkey have led the charge in Cambridge's recruitment. The trio of coaches have made their way in for in-home visits with the five-star recruit as well as drop in for her volleyball games this fall.
Now, as "closing time" begins, LSU is making quite the impression with Cambridge in town for a four day stay in Baton Rouge.
The Early Signing Period began on Wednesday and will run until Nov. 15. It's a week long period for prospects to put pen to paper on their National Letter of Intent with LSU already receiving the paperwork from their lone 2024 commit, Jada Richard.
Coach Kim Mulkey and the Tigers signed Richard on Wednesday, the top high school prospect from Louisiana, to kick off the signing period.
Richard is staying home as the top player out of Louisiana and a four-star, top-100 prospect by ESPNW. The 5-6 guard out of Lafayette Christian Academy has won three straight state championships across three divisions. In this year’s championship game, she scored 32 points with six rebounds, five assists and five steals, being named the game’s Most Outstanding Player.
“Jada’s scoring ability from the perimeter and midrange is outstanding, but what's equally impressive is her knack for creating opportunities for others,” Coach Kim Mulkey said. “She's a selfless player with a high basketball IQ. I have no doubt she will continue to excel and elevate the play of her teammates. I’m excited that Jada is staying home to be a Tiger!”
Now, as the remaining days of the signing period continue, LSU has their eyes set on three of the top players in America with Cambridge in town for her official visit.
Mulkey and Co. will also be in a recruitment battle for Sarah Strong, the No. 1 player in America. It'll be a dogfight between LSU and UCONN for Strong's services with her recruitment moving slowly as it stands.
There was optimism surrounding Strong signing during the early period, but now we could see the top player in the country wait until the later period to make a decision. Time will tell on this one.
