Joe Burrow, Derek Stingley and Grant Delpit Named to Midseason AP All-America team

Three Tigers make first team list, most of any school

LSU senior quarterback Joe Burrow, junior safety Grant Delpit and freshman cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. were all named to the first-team AP Midseason All-America list on Tuesday afternoon.

Burrow is currently on pace to break every single season LSU record for a quarterback including touchdowns (28) and passing yards (3,347). Currently the senior quarterback has thrown for 2,157 yards and 25 touchdowns, both ranked second nationally and completing 79.6 % of his passes, which is on pace to be the best completion percentage ever for a college quarterback. 

Stingley has been as good as advertised through six weeks of the season, ranking seventh nationally in interceptions with three and third  nationally with 12 pass break ups. Opposing quarterbacks are completing 46 % of passes against the freshman cornerback for a total of 266 yards and an NFL rating of 53.5.

Delpit has totaled 27 tackles, 1.5 tackles for a loss and one interception during his junior year for the Tigers. The leader of the secondary, Delpit entered the season on multiple preseason award lists.
