Live Updates: No. 6 Notre Dame at No. 10 Miami

In this story:
Miami 27, Miami 24
For some reason, Mario Cristobal and his coaching staff played that way to close but it worked out in the end with a clutch field goal. The Hurricanes now need a stop on defense.
Miami 24, Notre Dame 24
The Hurricanes offense is stalling out and talent is not overcoming bad coaching from the Canes sideline. It is now a tied game as Carr comes up big with a QB draw that is killing the Canes.
Miami 24, Notre Dame 14
No issue for the Canes to get some points on the board. The play calling has been questionable, but they are facing one of the best defenses in the country.
The Hurricanes find a way to get an incredible turnover. However, the issue is being able to get points on the board.
Miami 21, Notre Dame 14
The Irish score after a penalty fest for the Canes.
Fourth Quarter
The Fighting Irish are moving the ball well down the field. They are starting to use the run game more and some questionable penalties have also helped. The run game for the Irish are starting to show out.
A questionable outing for the Hurricanes offense as they still try to figure out the system with Beck.
The Hurricanes are just beating up on the the Fighting Irish now. The front is starting to dominate this game and with another massive drive coming up it could be the end for the Irish.
Miami 21, Notre Dame 7
A statement drive by the Miami Hurricanes. Coming out of the half with the best-looking drive all night. The Canes run the ball, and Carson Beck looked calm and collected. If Miami gets another stop and the Canes can do it again, this might be a different Miami team.

That is why you go pay money to get an LSU receiver. CJ Daniels with a monster catch placed in the right spot by Carson Beck. A wonderful moment for the Canes to end the half as they get the ball back as well.

Carr looks good. He maneuvers around to find a wide open man in the back of the endzone, for the first touchdown of the 2025 season.
The Fighting Irish are moving the ball down the field with their run game. Jadarian Price has some wheels, and they are using the m
The Hurricanes are up against one of the best defenses in the country but the offense looks like they are just shooting themselves in the foot. They have to get their act together because this could be a potential blowout.
Miami with another defensive stop. The Canes defense is looking legit against one of the best offenses in the country.

Eight plays, 70 yards drive for the Hurricanes' first scoring drive of the season. Toney will be used all night, and he continues to be a problem.
Second Quarter:
First Quarter: Miami 0, Notre Dame 0
The Canes are driving at the end of the quarter. Good first quarter for the Canes but they have to get it together on offense. They are driving down the field with Toney and Mark Fletcher Jr making plays.
The first quarter has been a defensive class for the Canes. LA Tech transfer David Blay Jr makes a key stop with a Carr QB power.
The Hurricanes wasted a chance to get points on the board. Bad snap and a missed opportunity for the Canes.
Sophomore DT Justin Scott with a monster hit to force the fumble. Canes on the field with great field position. Tennessee transfer Jakobe Thomas with the fumble recovery.
Also Jordan Faison looks like a problem.
First drive for the Canes saw some promise, but was stuffed on a 3 and 2 at the line. Sophomore Jordan Lyle is getting the first reps at running back, and Beck looks solid in the pocket. He has to get settled because he doesn't realize how much time he will have in the pocket with that offensive line.
First defensive drive of the game, the Hurricanes had some chances to get an interception and a few sacks. CJ Carr looks very elusive, but the Canes force a punt.

How to Watch: No.6 Notre Dame vs. No. 10 Miami
For the first time since 2017, the Miami Hurricanes and Notre Dame will face off against each other in one of the most important matchups of the year — and it's only week one.
The Hurricanes are coming in prepared to upset the Fighting Irish to start the season in a home opener that is expected to be the loudest Hard Rock Stadium has been since The Weeknd concert a few weeks prior. In a football sense, it will be the loudest the stadium has been since the Canes defeated the Irish in their last matchup.
The Hurricanes are set to debut Carson Beck in the orange and green, while the Marcus Freeman-led Irish will be debuting their redshirt freshman CJ Carr. It will be a hard-nosed battle between two of the top programs in the nation as they try to set the tone for the season.
